Curry Night Poster

Food available from 6pm to 8pm (or until it runs out!).

Large plates (adult size) will be £6. Small plates (for children or the less hungry) will be £4.

The Black Horse will be running a bar in the marquee on the school field that evening.

S&VA Raffle tickets will be on sale too!

During our Save The Black Horse campaign we ran several community curry/chilli nights which turned out to be very successful. The Black Horse is now saved and doing fantastically well (thanks to Colin and Amanda) but the original volunteer group still exist as Dry Drayton Community Enterprises (DDCE)*.

To support the local community and raise funds for DDCE’s ongoing work (and also because we saw how much the community enjoyed it) we are putting on another community curry night on the 5th July to coincide with Feast Week!

On Friday the 5th July we will have a selection of medium and mild curries, as well as vegetarian options and a selection of condiments. We’re cooking for 100 but past events have sold out fairly quickly so come along as early as you can after 6pm to avoid disappointment!

We will also be selling tickets for the S&VA raffle**, which has some great prizes including an aeroplane flight, a Raspberry Pi 4 computer and some rather nice single malt whisky!

Please come along to support the local community and enjoy the fabulous work of our local volunteer chefs.

Further Information

*During our campaign to save the pub, a group of volunteers known as the Black Horse Steering Group formed a Community Benfit Society – Dry Drayton Community Enterprises (DDCE). DDCE is a legal, non-profit entity which exists for the benefit of the local community. As well as being able to own and run the pub (which in the end we did not need to do) DDCE’s mission is also to be a vehicle to more broadly benefit Dry Drayton and the local community. Our steering group still meet regularly and we are looking to help the community where we can (for example supporting the recent bid for a cycleway to connect Dry Drayton to the new roundabout). Note that DDCE are always on the lookout for new members so get in touch if you would like to join us!

While the members of DDCE all commit their time freely, there are relatively small but necessary expenses (for example we have to pay some modest fees to the Plunkett Foundation and pay for website hosting). To help us cover these costs and keep DDCE running we are putting on the curry night.

**We are also pleased to be supporting the S&VA raffle by selling raffle tickets at the curry night and donating several prizes!
